Speed reading, like odometer mileage, are based on wheel revolutions. Faster-than-real speed means the wheel for some reason (smaller wheels) makes more revolutions to cover the same distance. On the odometer this corresponds to more miles driven. You will apparently get MORE miles to the tank (say, 450), but being shorter miles, the REAL fuel economy (mpg) will remain unchanged. The obvious advice: don't trust the odo for refueling - do it like before, to be on the safe side.

By the way, you should get the correct size tire on your car because you are putting more miles on the odometer than is actually accruing to the car. That is lowering your blue-book value when you go to sell the car.

You seems to be saying that whatever the differential in monitored speed (mi/km per hour) before, has not changed now. So you should expect the same results over time, on average.

To be safe, I`d top the fuel up every 350 miles so you don`t run out of gas.
