You don't need opinions from strangers about this. It's clear you and your grandson are very close. If you want to take this honor, then you should. People have the mistaken belief that the bridal party are like an entourage or wedding help. In reality, they are those the bride and groom feel closest to and want to honor, so this seems very appropriate to me. P.S.- Don't worry about any best man "duties". There are none. P.P.S.- The only opinion I might offer is that your grandson is way too young for marriage, but that's not under your control.

Well, my concern for the age of your grandson in relation to being ready for marriage aside....I think it's quite sweet that he wants you there in that role, so if you feel prepared for it, then go for it
