If they dont fit you and you dont wear them then I dont see what the problem is. If you dont give them away they'll just sit in the wardrobe anyway. Its far better to let someone else have them in my opinion. I really dont get what your mums problem is or how to get round it.

Good intentions, but while she is seemingly being irrational, probably better to pick your fights. I suggest leaving the clothes she bought with her own money, but whatever clothes you buy with your own money you can do anything you want with.

Indeed, you're a good and sensible girl at that. What's good keeping clothes which are no longer needed for good reasons. You're right to give them to charity or to people who need them. However, for me, you should have conferred with your mom your idea of giving out your stuff. Let her understand why they should be removed. Don't forget to ask permission from parents things that you do. You are still a minor and you need mom's approval. Always respect parents in decision making now that you are still young.
