Phone her first thing in the morning and let her know then that you won't be in.

The right thing to do would be to call the manager and let her know that you have a legitimate Doctor note that excuses you from work and that this note will reach her desk by tomorrow. Of course... you can just sit there and hide behind your stress related doctor note and wait things out. If I was the manager I would remark that this note is from the 2nd of January and that you don't have one that excuses you since the 27th of December.... but then again.. you are not going to be in that meeting, right? Only in the United Kingdom.... no wonder you guys have such issues. Here in the United States you would be considered No Show/No Call since December 31st and would have long lost that job.

Common courtesy would tell you that you need to phone your manager and tell her that you won't be in on the Monday if she is expecting you in. Do NOT let her find out via a note in the post. Just phone her and say you are still off sick and that a note will arrive in the post that day
