That 2.0 liter 4g63 Mitsubishi engine in the GSX is a very reliable engine, powerful and has a wide torque band for a turbo. The 2.0 in the GS and RS were made by Chrysler, but the GSX and GS-T have the Mitsubishi engine. The 4g63 is the same engine used in the Mitsubishi EVO (although it's beefed up a bit in the EVO to withstand the increased horsepower). I used Mobil One synthetic as recommended by Mitsubishi when I had an EVO.

Use the oil recommended in your manual.

Use what gives you be best service. I have used Amsoil fully synthetic and Mobil One Synthetic and none of the synthetics have been disappointing. I have nine cars, (1.7 million miles) and have not had problems with wear or problems no matter what synthetic I have stuck with. Even my lawnmower runs cooler on synthetic oil.

450,000 to 500,000 miles and your asking for an oil recommendation? We should be asking you not the other way around. I use the best synthetic money can buy - doing it for more than 20 years.

Both are good products, but you must use the one that meets the car makers specs. And that's more than just the viscosity rating. Read this post to really understand oil
