No. There are no viruses that will infect OS X...,00.shtml and the OS X Gatekeeper will warn you if you happen to find (highly unlikely) anything that may harm your Mac....

It wouldn't hurt, you can install Sophos Mac protection which is free and rather effective.

Upthread is this question about how to get rid of a virus on a MacBook: "I got a pop up with a fake website called Police Central E-crime Unit. I have googled it and it is definitely a fake virus. It won't let me close Safari, go to another webpage(I'm using my parent's laptop to ask this) or shut down/restart my MacBook." I would definitely get an antivirus/antimalware software for your MacBook. Kaspersky makes top-notch security software. Yes because Mac viruses do exist (not as common as Windows) but the threat is still there.
