If you don't have anything to do afterschool then yeah totally. Having money is awesome. And if you have a car too you are just one step away from total independence. You get to do cool things and buy stuff you want and not worry about it, plus no one can tell you what to and what not to buy.

Having a job sooner will look good on your resume. I had my first real job when I was 15. Bought my first snowboard, pants, jacket, boots, $600 leather jacket, buying booze for friends, and partied a lot. Money is good.

You will soon find out that you are still the same person the day you turn 18. It DOES NOT give you instant respect. What we adults respect: A teenager that has work experience because he has been working part time since he is at least 16 or 17. Now that is something that earns you respect when you turn 18.

In the work world, you will find jerk bosses and jerk coworkers treating adults with disrespect. And a jerk boss can fire you, then you have no job and no money until you find another job.
