First, you need to read the paperwork that you signed. The dealer isn't the lender and cannot approve the financing. The loan is thru a third party. The contract spells out that the deal is contingent on the lender approving your credit. You won't find any guarantee that the loan would be approved. it is very common for dealers to write up the deal and allow you to take the car. Often, you get a call to come sign some new paperwork for a higher interest rate and more downpayment. If you return the car, the will likely charge you milage for the time you had the vehicle. With the holidays, the dealer will probably be contacting you next week. By the way, if you just did the deal on the 11th, your first payment wouldn't be due this quickly. Usually it's closer to 30 days after the loan is approved before you have to make the first payment.

They should have given you DMV tags immediately. Find out what is going on. I used to work at a dealership, and we would have never done anything like this. Something is wrong here.
