  • Question about book covers?

Answer #1 | 24/12 2013 05:45
It's only the cover that changes, as the tv/movie people have no power to change the book (the right belongs to the writer)

Answer #2 | 23/12 2013 18:39
It's usually just a device used to re-publish the book. The contents remain the same but the cover changes to show that the book is related to the movie/tv series, this means publicity for both the book & movie. People who have read the book now know that there is a tv series/movie and people that have seen the tv series now know that it was based on a book. Plus the movie/tv series gain a profit for having their picture on the cover of the book. Sometimes details can be changed but this will be mentioned on the cover, the blurb or in the introduction. Most of the time the book remains the complete same.

Answer #3 | 23/12 2013 19:03
The text of the book is unaltered. They're just using art from the film on the tie-in edition.

Answer #4 | 23/12 2013 17:54
99% of the time the text is the same, just the cover changes. Occasionally there will be a recursive adaption - a book is adapted to a film, then the film has a book version released that differs from the original book.
