You're going to have to file under the "uninsured motorist" rider on your policy. Almost all standard car insurance policies have it. That will cover what happened to your car. Yes, it might be totaled, and yes, you'll have to pay your deductible... but you can at least pick up the pieces and move on. Since the police have taken a report / statement, the insurance company can then go after whoever is responsible. Whoever paid for that 30-day drive-out tag signed some paperwork, and while they may not have insurance, they definitely should bear liability.

"What do I do?" You use your own collision insurance for this. Call them now ! They will represent, protect and advise you but they have to know about the accident first. When you have insurance.... USE IT !

File a claim with your own insurance company. If you have the right coverage, all you need to pay is your deductible and they'll cover the rest.
