Ask about the graduation rate and employment rate for the nursing program. Then call a local hospital and ask if they hire graduates from that school. Also call the local Better Business Bureau and ask if they have any complaints about the nursing school.

I'll be the first one to say beware of a for-profit "university." The quality of education is often quite low and you often do not get what you pay for.

$30,000 for LVN school at a community college?!? Wow times must have changed, because when I attended community college it wasn't even in the double digits for cost. A LVN program shouldn't take your three years, if that is the case you may just want to consider getting your BSN which will take approximately 4 years.
