My husband got me 1/3 ct diamond ring, but a good diamond Get a smaller ring, but a better diamond. This way the ring will not be to big for her, but a good diamond sparkle more than a lesser diamond. Look at local jewelry stores, a lot of time you could get a better diamond for less money Do you know what color metal she likes, get that color

Bring her to the jewelry store, I suggest it would please her if the two of you agree what to buy and what to wear, after all the two of you will always be together. good luck

I would definitely not even consider one of those over the top, halo set rings that are surrounded by other diamonds, that are all the rage these days. I have three ideas: 1. A vintage engagement ring - they are generally quite understated: https://www.etsy.com/listing/159727532/vintage-engagement-ring-diamond-ring-14k?ref=sr_gallery_6&ga_search_query=engagement+ring&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto4&ga_explicit_scope=1&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_facet=vintageengagement+ring 2. A simple solitaire - now, that doesn't mean cheap by any means (always invest in the best stone you can find, not the setting): https://www.etsy.com/listing/66933562/diamond-engagement-ring-solitaire?ref=sr_gallery_8&ga_search_query=solitaire+engagement+ring&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto1&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmadesolitaire+engagement+ring 3. A pretty ring that isn't a diamond, and therefore, is automatically cheaper than a diamond, and won't make her feel so uncomfortable: https://www.etsy.com/listing/153854854/ring-aquamarine-ring-silver-4-carats?ref=sr_gallery_15&ga_search_query=aquamarine+ring&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_facet=vintageaquamarine+ring

Pricey and expensive are words that mean different things to different people. Make sure to do your research on how to buy a diamnd. You should never buy a ring on line or in a mall store. Shop in an independant store.Stay between 1 - 2 C . Get a simple solitaire.A round stone is always in style. I love the asher cut too.No princess and no halo's.The wedding band can be plain or even have some stones.
