Without insure representation the task of having the other motorist offer compensation is completely up to you. Had you properly carried insurance on your vehicle your insurance representative would take care of all detail. Without it you are going to have to coax payment out of the other party yourself. Will they comply? Hopefully, but don't be surprised if they are hesitant. If they are not willing to voluntarily make you whole your only recourse would be to take them to a court of law. Good luck, you are going to need it.

Fortunate for you is that the other person is a responsible driver. They take care of their business and so they have the proper insurance. If they cause damage to someone else car they want to make sure the other person is taken car of and the car gets fixed. You can file a claim by calling their insurance company and they will take care of it for you. People who choose to drive around without insurance are just deadbeats, they just don't care. If they smash up someone elses car then too bad for that guy. They could care less what havoc the cause for other people. Good thing you didn't get hit by one of these jerks.

Get an estimate for repairs, present it to him. He can either pay you out of pocket or use his insurance. Despite what some others are saying here. There is no law, there is no rule that says in order to be compensated for damage to your car that you must ALSO have insurance. This is all so basic. How is it that you don't know what to do?

You have no insurance. The other guy can say "go whistle sonny" and there's not a thing you can do. In fact, he doesn't have to be that polite. At an accident you exchange insurance details because the insurance companies decide who is at fault, not you. When you have no insurance details the other guy can walk away, knowing you can't do a thing. What you going to do? Call the cops? First question they ask is "Do you have insurance?"

I hope our were parked, if you were driving they may not cover you as you had no legal right to be on the road.
