I've never heard of a cap with a remote wire input. I think what's happening here is because you have the remote wire hooked up to the cap as well as the amp, the amp is taking power from the cap power lead which is keeping the amp on. Just hook up the remote wire to the amp only for it to turn on and off. It's ok of your cap is always on as it won't drain any power from your battery. The led lights that read the volts don't draw enough current to worry about.
