Video games have a way of making people angry because there is an expectation of things going the way they're supposed to go. Life is so unpredictable and hard to control so when people lose control in a game, it can be a lot harder to deal with then when things go wrong in real life. I would just tell him that it bothers you. Don't tell him to grow up or stop yelling at the TV or anything like that. That will just make him feel bad. Maybe you should play the game too and agree with him how frustrating it can be. He will most likely be happy to have someone on his side and it might make him a little less angry from then on because he knows someone else understands... I really hope that helps. Also tell him that if he breaks the controller you ain't gonna pay for it haha. Good luck!

Throw his console out the window >.>. No but seriously just tell him it's a game, he's not at war with the soviets. That he needs to take it down a notch and not scream at his screen like a kid is basically what I had to do with my friend before. I told him he was acting like a ADHD (sorry if I offend anyone that has ADHD) 10 year old and to act his age. He isn't nearly so bad anymore.

wrap his controller cord around his neck and drag him around the room until his vocal cords no longer function correctly so he cant scream mindlessly at his tv this approach works the fastest but you could just try as hard as it may seem to him its just a game you win some you lose some stop being a mindless child or just trade it in to gamestop and get him a wii no one to scream at

I'm 4 years older than my brother and I lift weights, so whenever he rages I just take his hard drive until he calms down.
