sounds perfect , you may have "white coat hypertension" where attending a clinic or doctor's office pushes your BP up take your BP at several times during the day over several days , isolated readings mean nothing

It's common especially for men to experience "white coat syndrome" when they go in the doctor's office. Basically what that means is you become nervous, or at an heightened anxiety state, which increases your heart rate and blood pressure. It would be in your best interest to follow up with your doctor to have them re check your blood pressure with a manual cuff. The electric ones are not always accurate. Most often, the electric ones are too small or not mechanically correct which can give you false readings. ( Not saying all cuffs are bad.) They should have two separate days of readings to make sure that your bp wasn't elevated just that day or is this a re-occuring factor. You can also ask them for your readings the last couple times in the office to confirm you are elevated. Your bp for your age (depending on your weight and other diagnoses) should be around 130/70 (give or take) and heart rate 70-80.
