The headphones aren't defective... The Ohms rating on a headphone gives an idea of what to expect from a headphone (an idea to someone that understands what all the 'specs' mean)... A 250 Ohm headphone is harder to drive than a 80 Ohm or 30 Ohm headphone...by harder to drive...I mean that it takes more effort from your device to power the headphones drivers to get a certain level of sound... This is what you are experiencing....if you add a headphone amplifier between your laptop and headphones it will sort your problem out...headphone amplifiers aren't that expensive and they actually are a really handy gadget to have around.
