Just wonder what is the main cause to make your parents so angry. As you mentioned, you went to library, got a tutor, and asked professors questions. But, you still got bad grades. Does that indicate some problems that you are not aware of? Perhaps you did not really understand the material? Perhaps you did not actually study and prepare well? How did you manage your time? You probably should go to your student service center and tell them your study habits and problem, and ask for professional help on diagnosing and improving your academic study skills. This way, you will have better grades, and better confidence, and better relationship with other people. Good Luck!

I'm Asian so I do get some of what you are dealing with. I have to wonder if your mother is going through menopause. It can make many women extremely angry and irritable. It sounds like that may be part of what is happening with her behavior. Whatever you do DON"T ask her, it would only make things worse. I don't think you can change your parents behavior since form their point of view you need motivation to do better in school and they think that belittling you is the best way to motivate you. I know it is only making things even harder, but they won't understand it that way and would see any other more reasonable reaction as babying you. Try not to let it stress you out, and make you best effort in school so that no matter what kind of grades you earn YOU will know that you put forth your best effort and your parents reaction is what it is. Good luck, it does get easier as you get older.
