Multiply equation 2 by 3 to get rid of the fraction 9x + y = 54 then multiply row 1 by -1 and add it to this -6x - y = -24 ------------------------ 3x = 30 so x = 10 then plug that in to get y
Answer #2 | 28/12 2013 20:38
6x + y = 24 and and 3x+y/3=18 Another way to do it is to look at the first equation. 6x + y = 24 You can change it to y=24-x Then put that into the second equation for Y. Solve for X, and resolve for Y.
Answer #3 | 29/12 2013 17:39
6x + y = 24 y = -6x + 24 3x + (-6x + 24)/3 = 18 3x - 2x + 8 = 18 x + 8 = 18 x = 10 y = -60 + 24 y = -36
