Hi if every owner got worried when oil dripped from the exhaust he would have been in a mental hospital. that is normal for most makes of petrol and diesel engines. so that spanner is an indication the car has a fault which could be diagnosed by a visit to a vauxhall dealer and a hook up to the diagnostic tester. to reveal the fault code and it's meaning.

The best way to find out is to pay to have an electronic diagnostic test done. Here are a few simple items that might be a cause; the tank filler lid bleed hole could be blocked. The air breather return feed to the carburettor could be blocked this is often due to over filling with engine oil and the engine fails to breath correctly once a layer of carbon has blocked the intake to the carb.(Remove the air filter and look for the smaller intake port it looks like a perforated grid, and has a rubber return pipe connected beneath). Look also for the oil dip stick levels (never overfill or dip on uneven ground because you'll get incorrect readings).
