I suppose it's an option, especially if you're not intending to take things seriously. It's fun and lets you do it as a hobby. But don't expect anyone like Seth Rogen to discover you or something. The people he found on youtube probably took things much more seriously - they would have not just made videos for youtube and been done with it. They would have had to work to market themselves and promote themselves so they would have had an internet "buzz" to attract the attention of someone. And it's not like you can just make 1 video that is good - people like Rogan are looking for performers who are consistently good at what they do not really one-hit-wonder type of performers. Understand that professional acting is a business. People are in it to make money, not discover new talent. Industry people spend their time developing their projects, not going scouring youtube looking for unknown people to put in movies. Putting a bunch of videos on youtube and expecting some famous person to stumble upon them and think you're brilliant and put you in a movie is like buying a bunch of lottery tickets and expecting to win multi-million dollar jackpot. It's just not realistic. However, like I said it can be fun as a hobby.
