Yes, it's good. Try to find some stairs and run up and down them several times if the jump rope routine isn't pushing you enough. Check out Shaun T's "Insanity" video for more ideas if you get bored. Heavy weights with fewer reps definitely is good for muscle building. I'd say you are on the right track!

depending on how long you have been doing these workouts your body may have plateaued. Meaning your body has gotten used to the workouts you do. switch it up every week so your muscles become "confused", and push yourself instead of just jumping rope for 40 seconds double it.
