yeah. fill out the tax return in draft. Skip items that you do not understand, just fill in your income, and carry it through all the totals until you get to universal deductions.

Note, SSI is NOT income. What else did you have? How much? Can anyone claim you as a dependent?

if you know how much you made for the year, you can go on the IRS web site and look at the income and tax chart. find your filing status on the chart then look down the chart to find your income bracket. next to that will be an amount for taxes. if you haven't paid that much in taxes, you will owe when you file your tax return. if you paid more than that, you will get a refund for the overage.

if you are single, no dependents your non taxable income is $10K if you make more than that the excess will be taxed and the lowest rate is 10% which increases as the excess increases

Return is what you file, REFUND is money you get back. You can go on Turbo Tax and enter some basic info for an estimate.
