If it was dangerous they would be grounded, plus from the minor issues that have been detected I don't believe any have crashed due to airplane failure. Don't worry about it. You can't control any vehicle you travel in and are not in the drivers seat and flying is the safest form of transportation per rider/mile.

Of course it is, CASA would not let it in the air if it wasn't! They grounded perfectly safe Ansett 767s just for bad paperwork, nothing wrong with the planes, so you have no worries on that score! (Qantas are still flying 767s with the same problems the paper work was for!) The issues were battery related, and they have been solved, it was not a flying safety issue.

Relatively speaking. I don't think they have had any deaths. They were a few fires, but the worst one was in a plane that was on the ground with no one in it. And they have supposedly fixed the problems.

You are safer in a commercial jet then you are walking down a street by your house.

I reckon the reason we tend to think that planes are dangerous is because if they do crash they take an awful lot of lives at once whereas just walking or driving is far more dangerous but takes less lives at the one time.
