False. There is not an engine oil on the market, from BMW or otherwise, that lasts 15k miles. Simply use a full synthetic. There is absolutely zero reasons to buy your oil from the dealership.

Dealerships don't know anything about cars generally. They are sales people and not mechanics. Ask as mechanic that question and they'll laugh pretty hard. Unless they want you to blow your motor, of course, then they'll probably tell you yes.

BMW oil is ACEA A3 rated. It is better than A1 or A5 rating. It is not your regular full syntec Castrol oil.

Actually most oils will last longer than the 3000 miles 3 months. Im a member on a few bmw forums and members never change theyre oil before 6000 miles unless they race the cars on tracks I change my oil once a year or 2 times a year depending on my milage. If you go to any autoparts store you are guaranteed to see an oil brand that claims the oil will last 15,000 miles, even for bmw Another thing is if you drive a lot of miles your oil will likely be cleaner on average than most peoples. Check at autozone they have the oil you are looking for.

Most recent BMW's have an oil life indicator and monitor system. Probably 5 and 7 series 2004 and up and 3 series 2006[?] and newer. To enter the feature press down on the I-drive controller and scroll to the engine oil life. It would be rare for the oil to remain good for 15k miles. I believe BMW uses Castrol full synthetic but they change from time to time. It is conceivable that under ideal conditions in a perfectly tuned engine using a top-tier fuel and never shutting down the engine to preclude cold starts it could last but those conditions would exist only in a laboratory situation

I would advise you no to go to stealerships. Stick with AMSOIL it is the only 100% synthetic oil that can go 25,000 miles on the same oil and filter as well as giving you a 6% savings in fuel.
