LED/LCD TVs are here to display high quality videos ie, 1920*1080 resolution. CRT TVs supports upto 720*480. And I think if CRT TVs were also available in 1080p resolution it would be much bulkier will not be cheap. Thats why industry switched to different technology. CRT TVs doesnt support true 3D. If u watch HD movies/videos (from bluray disc/HD DTH not youtube or such low quality 'HD') more, LED TVs are there for you. Otherwise CRTs are stil here for standard cable tv and DVDs. Its all about you viewing habits.

Standard def video was designed 70 years ago. CRT televisions have a lot of experience making this old, old video look decent. But on a high-res display it looks horrible. Nothing you can do except stop watching standard def. Update your TV service to include HD stations.
