I think that RepoGirl and Mike G are right in one sense. I believe, however, that you have reversed your teacher's motives for circling the words that you use when writing. It is not likely that your teacher is wrong about circling your word. I believe you are using the wrong words in your answers. I am suggesting that you go to your school library and use the dictionary there to see if you are using the right words for your writing. It is your choice to do that or not. Good luck. I was a college professor of education.

"the teacher dont know" is terrible English. I hope you are using your big words better than you are using little ones.

He probably thought they were awkward uses or they are actually incorrect uses. Why would he mark you down for using words "he didn't know" lol. Wishful.
