Only if you have enough money to live on. With a roommate, have everything in writing.

If your parents don't mind you living at home, just stay there for awhile. College is REALLY expensive, and I can't imagine any job that you have right out of high school would have pay which could adequately support your housing, gas, food, and college expenses. Also, roommates can seem like a great idea, but how do you really know this person will be reliable? Obviously it's your decision, but I would say that staying in with your parents and seeing just how well your pay could support you without your parents cushioning you.
