He says that Vincent's one fault is that he is obsessed with photography...sometimes taking time from his chores to spend hours in the basement to develop the pictures he had taken. This is the first hint (the second being that it was Vincent who encouraged Wilson to answer the "Red Headed League's" newspaper advertisement) that Vincent was actually an accomplice in the crime which would later be exposed by Holmes.
