If ignorance is bliss, then bliss is ignorance. It means ignorance can only be bliss if one is ignorant of bliss. Bliss comes not from ignorance, bliss comes from knowing what bliss is. Ignorance is simply not knowing the unknown. It's a superficial phrase relative to one's understanding, or lack thereof.
