If you're putting it in the mail tomorrow, it will not be delivered tomorrow. I don't believe the postal service even works on Christmas (they won't deliver it, that's for sure, but it's also a federal holiday so the mail might stop completely). I mean at the earliest it'll probably be delivered Friday.

Your check won't bounce. Post office is closed on Christmas, not to mention mail is slower this time of year due to the volume. There will be plenty of time for your deposit on the 26th to post to your account. Your real problem may be that the post office may not get that check to Ford Credit by Jan 2.

Can you pay by bank transfer or online payment on the 26th, when you put the money in place? That will ensure the payment is not late. If not, send the cheque ASAP.

Not safe. Money doesn't become "available" to cover a check the moment you put it in the account. It can take a few days. On the bright side, with the mail being slow at Christmas, I don't know when Ford will get the check.

Yes, you should be safe IF you make a deposit on the 26th. Post offices are closed on December 25 - as well as the place you are mailing it to - so likely it won't get moving until the 26th - so it couldn't possibly get there and be cashed before then. Just be sure you do the deposit on the 26th. And don't "let dad" think you mailed it. Do it. If I was a co-signer - I'd be up your *** too. It's his credit you are messing with as well as yours.
