The filler line is under pressure from the fuel pump, so it would leak as long as the engine is running. You should be able to see where the leak is coming from. Don't delay, this is very dangerous.

If you had an extra hole in your head would you be able to add a quart of blood thru your ear? . CORRECTLY REPAIR OR REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE FUEL LINE OR TANK SEAL. . Goodby.

If it was the filler tube, you still could have put gas in. Unlikely the tube itself would leak, there is a grommet where the tube meets the tank, but it should be pretty high in the tank. Now that the leak is huge, should be easy to find.
