There aren't many inexpensive destinations. But I suggest some that you might not be aware of. It's surprising that not many Americans know of them. They are: Redding, California, Ferndale and Eureka, California, Placerville, California and maybe Roseburg, Oregon or Talent, Oregon.

A vow renewal is a very private affair, typically held when a couple has been married for some significant amount of time or when the marriage has gone through a rough patch and the couple wish to re-affirm their commitment to one another. Since a vow renewal has no legal significance whatsoever, it does not need to take place at any specific place or with a celebrant in attendance. Your husband and you can book yourselves a nice holiday and confirm your love for one another standing alone on a beach, holding hands and gazing deeply into each other's eyes or on the loneliest mountaintop or whatever kind of setting you like. Since it is not a wedding, none of the usual trappings of a wedding such as dress, cake, etc. will be required.

Look on Living Social under their Escapes. They have a lot of places listed there for getaways, and many are likely to have what you want. It just depends upon what might appeal as far as location and budget.

I think the biggest thing is do you want to be inside (sightseeing, tours, musuems, shopping) or outside (skiing, swimming, beach) once the vow renewal is all said and done? Inside: Branson, MO is fun Boston Milwaukee (seriously - it's a fun town) Mall of America (chapels right in the mall!) Outside: Anywhere warm would be nice - Disney, Myrtle Beach, San Antonio Beach - The Keys Colorado Springs - Denver - Steamboat - Vail Check Groupon for special offers.

OMG! Me and my husband feel the same way. We just got married in September and though it was a great big wedding, it wasn't for us- we should have eloped. Therefore, we have decided to go on a nice vacation for our first anniversary. www.applevacations.com offers the best deals! It also includes airfare! Enjoy!
