There is no reason to be afraid to talk with a counselor. The worst that can happen is nothing, but they may be able to help. You never know until you try. You may have a social anxiety disorder, which may be helped with medication, but you would need to speak with a doctor or psychiatrist about that. Counselors don't deal with medication, but they try to help you find solutions in other ways. They are not there to judge you or tell you what's wrong with you. They are only there to help you. That is their whole job, is to help people in situations like yours. Without people to help who have problems like yours, counselors wouldn't exist. Don't worry. I know it is hard to reach out for help, and hard to trust people you don't know, but they really are there to help people like you, and generally that is the reason they became counselors in the first place, so they could help people. I started having problems as a teenager too, and counseling and medication really helped me a lot. I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't sought help. Good luck, and remember, you don't deserve to suffer, and it doesn't have to be this hard. Help is available, if you choose to seek it out.
