A 12 year old Mustang as a first car? Really bad idea. If you're driving it "to school" have you looked at the insurance costs?

It's not the reliability you should be worried about, it's the cost of owning one. They get horrible gas mileage even for the V6 model, and it costs a fortune to insure especially that it's your first car. Reliability is ok but it is not at the same level as Toyota, but it is still better than a Chrysler product

They get horrible gas mileage even for the V6 model, --- The only folks who think 20city/30hwy MPG ratings are bad are those who have to compensate by buying a hybrid every time gas prices jump.

A used car is only as reliable as it's repair records indicate and how well the previous owners cared for car. A Mustang is going to carry very HIGH insurance premiums. Do your homework before you buy a car and figure out you can't afford to own it.
