The foot is very sensitive. Make sure you get it where it won't be constantly rubbed. The foot isn't a great place because they are usually covered and the rubbing can change the color/s.

Foot tattoos are always better to get during the summer because you have to wear shoes that will not cover the tattoo for the first few days. The pain is really bad compared to other areas of the body. The skin on feet is really thin and really veiny so the pain is really bad. I find the foot tattoo healing process isn't much different from anywhere else, you take care of it properly and it'll heal in 2-3 weeks. (I view "end of healing" as when the scabs have all fallen off naturally).

When you aren't doing anything at home, I would keep it uncovered (it heals faster that way). Otherwise, you will have to cover it with a bandage (the place I went to covered it with saran wrap, that will work also). I would suggest getting it in the winter time (I got my foot tattoo in the winter). You don't want to expose your new tattoo to too much sun, and you also can not swim with it either. As for pain, there isn't much fat on the foot, so it may hurt more. I personally feel like the tattoo on my wrist hurt more. Good Luck!

Foot tattoo's are quite painful as the skin is quite thin and sensitive. It's better to get it done in the summer as the other answers above me said you'll have to wear shoes where it wont be constantly rubbed for the first few days. If you are still planning to go ahead with it remember to have some sugar, it'll help your nerves. No alcohol or taking anything either to help the pain, it'll make you bleed more and it'll be harder for your artist. :-)
