I can relate to you soooooooooooo much. I am 16 as well, and an only child so my parents never leave me alone. Its mostly just our age. It takes a strong person to be able to spend 2+ hours in the same room with their parents, and I am not one of those people. In a couple of years, it will be different. You will miss them, and enjoy their company (for certain amounts of time that is). I think we just need to live with it. Try not to blow up at them or be rude, they only wish to do the best for you, sometimes they can just be really annoying going about it :P I like to hide in my room and take shelter on the internet. Its the best you can do without starting any family drama. Just know you're not alone and thats totally normal!

They feel awkward around you too. My parents had a sit down with me and said they felt the same way when they used to be with THEIR parents. And their parents felt the same way with their parents and so on. It's just a generation gap, that's all. Parents have their own little quirks, and it's completely all right to leave if you don't feel like being around.
