File a "change of address form" at the post office. They will reroute all your mail to the new address for the next 12 months.

If you are missing the W-2, call the employer and give them your new address and/or ask for a duplicate copy (and yes, they can charge you for it). I am confused because you say "I filed a w2 at an address i lived at"--filed what? Your tax return? Why would you put the wrong address on the tax return itself?
Answer #3 | 08/02 2014 10:16
you file your tax return at the address at which you can be reached if IRS needs to contact you by mail
Answer #4 | 08/02 2014 10:10
if you have moved since your first job, send a change of address notice to the employer.

Don't worry about it. As long as you got the W-2, just file it even if it's an old address. Be sure the address on the top of your return is current though. If it's different from the W-2, won't cause a problem.
