That particular year is well know for the same problem: Stalling. The most common cause is the ignition switch. Replacing the switch will cure the problem.. Click on the link to read more about the same vehicle: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/1999/electrical/stalling_randomly.shtml

Water in fuel tank, weak fuel pump, blocked fuel filter, Loose wire in ignition circuit. If it has an electronic throttle, could be the throttle sender.

There are many reasons why your engine failed on you while driving. I am suspecting the tachometer sensor which feeds engine speed info to the ECU (engine control unit). A failed tachometer (rpm) sensor will cause the ECU to cut fuel supply to the injectors, thus killing the engine. You are able to re-start the engine and move along, but it will stall again. This sensor sits on top of the gearbox, is bolted down by a single bolt, and has an electrical connector attached to it. Hopefully this is the cause of the problem. It has happened to me before. And I hope that you do not have to go on a wild goose chase. Good luck.

I`m thinking fuel filter, my wife has a civic ex, put a bottle of injector cleaner in with a full tank of gas & hopefully that will help you.
