Though disheartening, it does occur. A coworker that is getting paid more than you yet doing the same job as you could be a cause of many things. The coworker could do their job better based on what your manager sees, They could have asked for a slight raise and got accepted, Or if the coworker is new your manager could be paying them more to lure new people into working and staying there. It's perfectly normal to feel frustrated or angry, but if you enjoy the job and/or getting paid from that job, your main goal should be getting past those feelings and getting a raise. If wanting a raise, bring something up like "It has come to my attention that others make much more for doing the same job,” so it isn't demanding or aggressive in any way. Then discuss something like "I’ve been working hard and I love working here. What can I do to improve my chances of getting a significant raise?" This will be the best route to go if you wish to keep your job and want to be paid the same as others. Best of luck!

Could it be the others are being paid extra for seniority or experience? If they are your age and haven't been there as long, and you are doing the same duties with the same responsibilities, then you do have a legitimate gripe.
