Try getting a new phone charger, its not a problem with the cars power port since it seems to be giving power.

Try switching between the power outlets and the cigarette lighter. The lighter socket is not very friendly to power adaptors, which can be seen when looking into the two sockets comparing them to each other. ( the lighter element sockets have two fingers at the bottom which hold onto the element until it reaches full glowing red temperature to light the cigarette, then release it ). The most common thing I have seen over the years is a faulty charging unit for the appliance you want to charge. First check the fuses for lighter element and power outlets ( 2 fuses usually ) and replace if they are burned out. They will be in the fuses boxes under the hood or under the dash on the left hand side. Hope this helps.
