It has been decades since I have changed the alternator on a Porsche 914, but I remember it as being a little bit of a pain. Since the engine is mounted in the middle and points back, the alternator is towards the front, on the driver's side. I believe some shrouding has to come off, but the main adjuster is an allen head bolt you reach from above I believe. The pivot bolt is towards the middle, so is under the fan casting, so has to be reached from underneath, as well as alternator body. The video is out of the car, but helps.
