your mobo only supports up to 1333MHZ thus the ram you bought should only be read by that board up to 1333MHZ speed only. http://ark.intel.com/products/48955/Intel-Desktop-Board-DH55PJ If the one you bought doesn't work then that brand is indeed not supported by that board.

Don't really know? Usually if you put a faster speed Ram chip in, it will still only read whatever speed your motherboard supports. Like if your motherboard supports 1333 the the 1600 Mhz will only read 1333 Mhz.
