Thick and thin hair is all part of genetics. I have thick hair because of my dad. Maybe you have thin hair because of one of your parents. But, If I can help you with this I would tell you to use coconut oil in your hair. The oil will help the natural hair growth and help your hair grow longer and maybe a bit thicker. I hope this helped! :)

Unless you are severely malnourished (like, anorexic or concentration camp victim....) your hair length and texture is genetically determined. You cannot do anything to it to change that. That's just science. There are some products that do add body temporarily, but they just get washed down the drain. Hair is dead. There is nothing you can do to the outside of it to change what your genes gave you. It is better to accept whatever texture you have, and choose styles that work with it, rather than against it.
