You need to go by train to Manchester Piccadilly Station. From Telford you will need to change trains at either Wolverhampton or Shrewsbury www.nationalrail.co.uk For information on local transport from Manchester Piccadilly Station to the Trafford Centre telephone Traveline on 0871 200 2233

Train to Manchester Picadilly , then you have to take a Tram / the Metrolink to Stretford where there is a specia bus to the Trafford Centre ! Complicated but no direct train ! Can be nearly an hour Picadilly to TC . Get return tickets and although TC closes late except Sundays , check bus and last tram times and your train time allowing for all connections !

Unfortunately, where you have to change depends on when you want to catch the train. You either get a train to Wolverhampton or to Shrewsbury - then change trains for Manchester Picadilly. On some trips you have to change again at Crewe. Then catch the express X50 or 250 bus from Piccadilly Gardens bus station or hop on a tram to Stretford and connect to the Metrolink Shuttle bus
