Can your parents afford $400.00 month for your insurance, plus maintance and gas, tires. Start out with a part time job after school. Start out with a motor scooter first.

My friend bought a POS car for his first car.. only paid 3 grand.. I paid 11 grand for mine.. his car has been in the shop more than it's been on the road, he's spent more money in repairs than he did on the car... I have only serviced mine and replaced tires. It comes down to How long you want the car, who owned it, and How much you'll pay. Don't be fooled by high price tags. It doesn't say much about the vehicle. Look at reports and study cars you're interested in before buying one. Also look at insurance costs. Could have bought another car I wanted instead for the same price but my insurance would have been 3x more. Pay attention to that and you'll be fine.
