Its all about your body type. Some people develop muscle quicker. You should start with 20 a day, you don't want to hurt yourself. But it should take about 3-4 weeks or until you see results

Don't forget, abs happen in the kitchen. If you're not eating right, you won't get a flat stomach. Depending on your body type, it could take 4-5 weeks. Try switching up your exercises though. After a while, your body is going to get used to the 50 situps and you won't see many changes. You'll have to push yourself. Try going for 100, and going in different directions and positions. If you want to get a flat stomach, cardio, HIIT (High intensity interval training) and diet will work better than sit-ups. Be careful...strengthening your core is helpful but excessive abdominal exercises might bulk them up...the opposite of what you're going for.
