Those are my kids' favorites. My wife will start making them for Christmas in July. She'll make a batch of four or five dozen, stick 'em in freezer bags and put' em in the big freezer in our garage. Even those made in July are still good come Christmastime. If you decide to do that, make sure you let them cool to room temperature before you bag them. You can generally get from 12 to 15 snickerdoodles in a quart-size freezer bag.

Cookies typically stay fresh for a week or so if they are stored in a sealed container or plastic bag. The more you open the container, the less fresh the cookies will stay. You can keep them longer however they might get a little stale/dry. Keep them in a cool location as well to preserve the moisture and prevent excess heat from drying them out.
