Well for one, discrimination. A Christian owned business could easily decide not to hire me.
Answer #2 | 23/07 2014 16:52
Mostly the Evangelical/fundamentalists with their anti-secular attitude. "Oh, we can make the government do that, because we really aren't a religion, we are the truth."
Answer #3 | 23/07 2014 16:50
Usually by trying to inflict its own morality into my life by presurring government into passing laws it agrees with.
Answer #4 | 23/07 2014 16:51
In most places in the US you still can't buy alcohol on Sundays due to Christian blue laws. In many places in the world, Christians still imprison and even kill suspected "witches" thanks to the Bible. Christians are constantly trying to inject their silly laws into secular society.
Answer #5 | 23/07 2014 16:54
It vexes me greatly.
Answer #6 | 23/07 2014 17:23
I am an ex-Christian. I have too many Christian friends. I love them. They are still my friends although I left Christianity and became a non-Christian. Christianity does not impact me. I don't love Christianity. I don't like it. My Christian friends are not better than me. (I am not better either.) They pray to God and I no longer pray since I left Christianity. The results of our lives are almost the same. Even my life is better than lives of some Christian friends of mine.

I live in the American deep south. I have to tell you that there is not a day that my life isn't negatively affected. I have to be careful about what I say because if you say something that offends a Christian, you'll face consequences. The typical greeting here in the south is "What church do you go to". HOW OFFENSIVE! I had a birthday party once, and a neighbor brought a blind date - who in hearing me speak of someting that I thought was "safe" even here, he jumped up and screamed, "YOU'RE NOT A CHRISTIAN". He was really upset and took my neighbor home. (At least he left - but really!!) The home across the street was for sale. It was raining as a prospective buyer waited for the realtor. I went over to her car to invite her to sit on my porch rather than in her car. She came. Small chat ensued. I asked if she had grandchildren. (This is a senior community). She started in on how unruly young people are and they have no family values. On hearing the word "family values", I knew who she was, so I changed the subject to something safer. "Do you have any pets", I asked her? She said she did, but she had to put it down. I told her that was very loving of her. She must miss the dog very much. She said she did. I said that my final documents ask that I be euthanized if I can't recover. She jumped up and said "I'M A CHRISTIAN!" running off the porch back to her car. I find those pictures of fetuses ghoulish and unfit for children to see. Teachers here are outraged because math and science are conforming to national standards. It isn't the math so much - it's the science. Did you know that the Republican platform for the state of TX (not my state) stands for not allowing public schools to teach anything that might contradict a parent's beliefs. This was aimed at stopping physics and evolution from being introduced to students. Christians want children stupid and unthinking robots who understand only "OBEY". The bagger at the grocery store always says "God bless you" after he fills the bags. If I am not allowed to be safe talking about my religion - SHUT UP ABOUT YOURS! Read this article about how Christians rebuff help from atheists who want to help - either with time or money: For you to ask the question you asked, I can only say that you are not paying attention. You are not aware of how many are being HARMED by your religion. You think that what you are doing is nice and well-intended, but I don't care about what you intended. I care about what your religion caused. It's a really HORRIBLE religion BECAUSE it teaches its members to be mean, spiteful, vengeful, proactively hateful, and ultimately very cruel. Pay attention. This is important. Look at the CONSEQUENCES of what Christian values are. Look at the suspected witches being burned alive in Africa, because American Christian evanglicals went over ther and without undertanding their culture, terrified them. So the suspected witches are round up. Tied up. And forced to watch as whole villages burn them alive - one by one. Look at Uganda with its death penalty for homosexuals thanks to American Evangelicals. Look at Russia with life in prison for homosexuals as well as mandatory prison time and a hefty fine (10,000US) for not turning in a homosexual. Look at the millions of orphaned kids in Africa who are left to find a way to survive (whole villages of them) because birth control/condoms are sinful. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! Look at the number of hungry children in America (1 out of 5). Why is this? Because Christians love money more than they love God. Those Christian charities that you are so proud of are making the problem WORSE! THE MONEY IS THE PROBLEM. UNDERSTAND WHAT MONEY IS AND THE HARM IT DOES. YOU CAN'T THROW MONEY AT A PROBLEM THAT MONEY CAUSED AND EXPECT TO MAKE THE PROBLEM BETTER. IT MAKES THEM WORSE. I think the most offensive thing about Christianity is that Christians don't know a thing about what Jesus TAUGHT. They know what Paul taught - but they only know stories about Jesus. Jesus and Paul had two entirely opposite teachings. Jesus taught how to live without money. Paul taught the need for money - because he wanted it. Life for me in this Christian community is like walking around a group of people whose eyes have glazed over. They don't know the most rudamentary things. When I bought this house, I was take for 5 grand by a man wearing a large cross, but who never did the work that I couldn't see he hadn't done. I've had things stolen by christians. I've received bad checks with the memo line "love in Christ". HORRIBLE RELIGION. HORRIBLE These people are really mean and they are LIARS and they are some of the most ignorant and uninformed, unthinking people in existence. Yet they think that they are right about all things.

It doesn't here in Canada but when I have traveled through the states I have feared for my life. The deep south is full of crazy people and is more like Iran than the US.

Where I live, in a small village in Buckinghamshire, UK with a small population of just under 3,000 souls, one would have to be Christian for Christianity to have any impact on one's life despite the fact that there are three churches in the village and three more, less than a mile away ! In over 10 years of living here, I have never seen the Vicar or parish priest, nor Salvation Army officers, nor Mormons at the door. The only people who come to our doors, about three times per year are the Jehovah's Witnesses. In order for Christianity to impact here we should need the Christians to come out of the woodwork and be about their father's business, visit the sick, elderly etc., In my experience, Christianity and it's adherents keep a very low profile.
