Use the word 'I', 'my' or 'me' in the opening sentence, straight away this is going to tell the reader it's a first person narrative. Using the term "This is my story..." or "My story began..." is also an excellent way to tell the readers that this is a first person narrative from a main character. I don't know any details about your fan-fic so I can't really give you advice in regards to story line or plot for the opening scene. I'd suggest reading some other fan-fiction and pay close attention to how they open a first person narrative, however giving a little back story/ personal information is always a good way to start, it builds a bond between the character & the reader. Good look :)
